At the beginning of this new millenium, each country that produces wine has its own law of wine and grape-vine, and is affiliated to an international
institution, The International Organisation of Wine - OIV - in Paris, which has an activity of more than a century.
The Romanian law stipulates that wines are labeled, from common wines having a minimum of 8.5 degree concentration of alchool, to special wines which are
obtained from a special culture of grapes and a controlled vinification. These special wines are produced in geographical areas strictly delimitated by law, and controlled throughout to
entire process of making wine.
