The odyssey of wine, from the grape to the bottle, and finally to the consumer, still has to cover one important step: the reseller. He represents the link between the producer, the wholeseller and the consumer.

Prior to 1989, in Romania, the packing and the label were not considered important in selling wine products, because of the state monopoly. Afterwards, the other extreme was promoted, where the design means more than the actual content of the bottle.

We will present, further on, the sorts of wine produced in Romania.

The table wine, and the superior table wine, don’t exist anylonger in our country. Yet, in the European Union these sorts of wine, generally known as “vin de pays”, “landwein” or “country wine”, are very popular, reaching an impressive number of consumers.
